Elite Athlete's Conditioning Programs


Conditioning for athletes is the process of creating activities within an exercise program undertaken by an athlete that produces increased function within their sport.

Conditioning aims to improve the performance of the athlete within their chosen sport and to reduce the risk of injuries.

The way conditioning should work, is by making sure an athlete can meet the specific demands of the sport they are taking part in as their performance in that sport is dependent on their ability to meet it's demands.

Conditioning programs should be custom-designed for the individual athlete, taking into account his or her physical limitations, current fitness level, lifestyle and goals. The program should start out with tolerable activity and then begin to get more intense and work toward the athlete's goal.
